Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif Proclaims To Launch the Literacy Movement across the Country

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced to launch literacy movement with encouragements to certify maximum enrollments in schools:

Speaking at a conference on the unfinished agenda in the field of education in Islamabad today (Saturday), Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that there is a national harmony on the need to improve and modernize the education sector in the country.

He also said that the government of Pakistan has intends to achieve 100 percent literacy rate in three upcoming years. While conversing, he also announced that Pakistan governments will double the budget of education in next four years to improve the literacy rate and for the development of country.

He recently told a national action plan was launched in cooperation with the provinces to achieve educational related purposes.

Prime Minister also said education will also make an important component of the development program of the government.

Nawaz Sharif has said that investment in education is really an investment in the better future of the country.

While emphasizing on the education system to support the knowledge economy; he said, science and technology, including professional training and information technology training should be an important part of the education system.

Whereas, conversing about women education he concludes that our educational policy must highlighted the education of female. We need to ensure women's participation in decision-making procedure. 

Women have played a very important role in field of education and other spheres of life, said Prime Minister.

He believed that half the population is under twenty-five years, and the future of the country is directly related to the proper education of the set. The Prime Minister said that without an education demographic dividend will become a burden.

Special Envoy of the UN General Secretary on education, Gordon Brown, thanked to the efforts and steps taken by the current government for the promotion of education. According to him, it is gratifying to see that the government wants to double the budget for education.

Gordon Brown said that several countries and institutions are coming up with assistance to help Pakistan to achieve the goal of every child in educational institute.
