Countries That Offer Free Study

Education is an important factor that changes the life of an individual in a positive way. Many students wish to seek higher education in foreign countries to boast their career but sometimes the financial element becomes the obstacle in fulfilling the dream.  But there are some countries which offer free education for the international as well as the local students. Study in Europe is the dream of many students and when they know that studying in the universities that offer free tuition fee is not less than a treat for them. Some countries and universities are described below who offer this treat:

European countries

Norway          

Norway is among those countries that offer quality education for free in its universities and the Norwegian government finances education with the tax money so that the international and the local students can take benefit out of it.  There are eight universities, twenty state university colleges and sixteen private colleges in Norway and the universities which offer free education are University of Oslo, University of Bergen, University of Nordland, University of Agder (UiA), University of Stavanger, Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB).

Sweden

Sweden was the country in which education was totally free up till 2010 but after that parliament passed a law for paying tuition and application fee for non EU/EEA students. But the good thing is that at the same time they offered the scholarship for international students. Uppsala University, Jonkoping University, Uppsala University, Lund University, Halmstad University, Stockholm University and Stockholm School of Economics are among those universities that offer free tuition fee.

Germany                                                                                                  

In Germany the tuition fee for under graduate students both national and international are free but for the Masters program whose fee ranges from 650 Euros to 3000 Euros per semester.

Austria                                                                           

In Austria the tuition fee is absolutely free for EU students and very low fee for international students. But for the non EU/EEA students the tuition fee is 363.36 or 726.72 Euros per semester. And the cost of living in Austria is 800 Euros which covers food, accommodation travel etc.

Finland

Like Germany the tuition fee for the under graduate program is free but it also adds the Phd program which also offer free tuition fee but some of the Masters programs require tuition fee for non EU citizens.

Spain

In Spain the tuition fee is charged by the credit points which are almost free with the price ranging from 9.50 to 30 Euros.

 

Scholarship by USA government

Government of USA offers many scholarship programs to the international students who want to pursue higher education.

Fulbright scholarship

Fulbright is one of the best scholarships for the international students in USA to study Masters or PhD programs that offer the grant which covers tuition fee, airfare, stipend, textbooks and health insurance.

Humphrey fellowship program

This program offers a year of professional enrichment for the professionals who are selected on the base of their potential and their commitment to the public service and these fellowships also cover all the related expenses.

Under these program there are number of universities and colleges in US that offer scholarship for international students including American University, Oregan University, New York University, Michigan State University, Clark University and many more.
