Candidates will need to meet the following entry requirements for the programme:
Normally a UK 2.1 Honours degree (or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University) and a UK Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a final result of at least 60% (or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University).
In cases where students have not completed a Master’s degree, applications may be considered where students hold a first-class UG degree from a high-ranking, research-focused university and have demonstrated an ability to conduct academic research.

SCHOOL OF SOCIAL AND POLITICAL SCIENCES PHD SCHOLARSHIPS

The School is a leading centre of interdisciplinary social science, bringing together research, innovation and student education to tackle the key social and political challenges of our time.
Aim:
The overall aim will be to investigate a new reaction scheme for producing ammonia from N2 and water.
In this interdisciplinary project, you will:
Review the state-of-the-art technologies for low emission approaches to ammonia production, and particularly chemical looping.
Screen and develop materials for fixing N2 and producing ammonia at mild conditions.
Develop a plasma-assisted system to facilitate ammonia production.

Benefits
The University of Warwick will provide the full fees for three years to the successful candidates. The scholarship is full-time fees only and excludes living costs, travel etc. Up to one scholarship can be provided to cover the current overseas fee (Band 1).
