Applications are now open for the University of Bonn SDG Fellowship 2026 in Germany. It is one of Germany's major fellowship programs for international candidates. The Bonn SDG Fellowship 2026 lasts three to twelve months. The SDG Fellowship aims to do research on Sustainable Development Goal-related themes at the University of Bonn. Fellows and Young Professionals from Africa, Latin America, and South/East Asia are welcome to apply.

What is the size of the funding?

The grant may cover the following:

  • A travel allowance (based on country of origin)
  • A €3,000 monthly scholarship (extra money for family members: up to €300 for a spouse and €250 for each child)
  • Monthly research expense allowance of up to €500.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Fellowship is open to applicants from Africa, Latin America, and South/East Asia.
  • Post-doctoral and researcher positions are available (with foreign citizenship).
  • Have a keen interest in and experience with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
  • English proficiency is necessary.
