What Are the Excellence Scholarships?
Every year, the University of Milan gives out 160 Excellence Scholarships to top international students who are starting Master's programs in English. You can get these scholarships based on your academic performance, and they come in two types:
- 60 scholarships of €8,000 each, along with a full waiver of tuition fees.
- 100 full tuition fee waivers (without cash).
The best part? You don’t need to apply separately. When you apply for a Master’s program, you’re automatically in the running for these scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
- You have to be an international student to apply.
- Make sure you meet the eligibility requirements for the master’s program you're interested in.
- This is for students who are starting their master’s degree in Italy for the first time.
- Since it's a scholarship for excellence, you'll need to show that you have strong academic results.
- Having good work, research, or study experience will also help your chances for these scholarships in Italy.

Italian University MAECI Scholarship Available
This scholarship is available to foreign students and Italian citizens living abroad who wish to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees at Italian public or legally recognized universities.The MAECI scholarship is designed for study at Italian higher education institutes, both public and legally recognized. All public universities in Italy accept MAECI scholarships.

Most Italian public universities support the MAECI Scholarship Program.

Eligible Countries:
Open to international students with residence permits for international protection, temporary protection, or special protection under Italian immigration regulations.
Acceptable Course or Subjects:
Any subject offered by the University of Turin
Hold a valid residence permit for international protection, temporary protection due to the Ukrainian humanitarian emergency, or special protection
Have a foreign qualification suitable for enrollment in the 2024-2025 academic year

Language Proficiency Requirements:
To be enrolled in Italian language taught course, the non native Italian speakers need to prove their proficiency in Italian language through relevant Italian language certificate.
Under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) the minimum level required to prove proficiency in Italian language is B2.
The candidates, who are studying or have studied a course in Italian Language, must provide Italian Language certificate issued by the language teacher of their department in the university.
