Outstanding international students enrolled in UBC's undergraduate programs are given the opportunity to apply for International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES). When a student enrolls in UBC for the first time, they receive their IMES, which they can keep for up to three more years of study. Depending on the amount of money available, different scholarships are given out each year in different amounts.
A one-time merit-based entrance scholarship known as the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award is given to deserving applicants upon receiving an admissions offer from UBC. Pupils who are chosen for this award exhibit both academic strength and extracurricular involvement.
