Applications Are Open For Chinese Government Scholarships 2023-2024

Chinese scholarship Council (CSC) has been announced scholarships for Pakistani students to study in Chinese Universities. CSC is accepting online Chinese Government Scholarship applications for the academic year 2023-2024. This fully funded scholarship program offers scholarships for students who want to pursue bachelors or masters studies at Chinese Universities, and for teachers who want to pursue PhD programs at Chinses Government Universities.

Chinese Government Scholarship Categories

There are three types or categories of CSC Scholarship program

Chinese Government Scholarship type A

This type is for those applicants who apply directly to the China embassy for scholarship program. For CSC Scholarship application under category A students can visit Campuschina.org. Students can apply to two Chinese Universities by selecting category A. 

Chinese Government Scholarship type B

Applicants who apply through Chinese University will select category/type B. According to new policy students can apply to three Chinese Universities for CSC Scholarships.

Chinese Government Scholarship type C

Apply through a nominating agency of relevant country. For Pakistan HEC (Higher Education Commission) is a nominating agency for Chinese Government Scholarship 2023-2024.

Successful candidates can avail scholarship for bachelors, masters and PhD study programs. Chinese Government Scholarship Program sponsor Pakistani students and teachers for a scholarship based degree program in China.

Chinese Government Scholarship For Undergraduate Students

4-5 years scholarship funding will be provided for bachelors study programs including one year of Chinese language preparation. Chinese language preparatory year is compulsory for undergraduates.

Chinese Government Scholarships For Postgraduate Students

2-3 and 3-4 years CSC Scholarship grant is offered for masters and PhD study programs in Chinese Universities.

Chinese Government Scholarships Benefits

Chinese Government Scholarship coverage includes the following

• Education Funds: Including tuition fee, admission fee and all other education expenses at university will be covered by the Chinese University. CSC provide tuition allowance directly to the host university.

• Free accommodation at the University dormitory will be provided to the scholarship awardee

• Chinese Government Scholarship Monthly Stipend: A monthly stipend of minimum 2500, 3000 and 3500 CYN will be provided to bachelors, masters and PhD awardees respectively

• No Travel Expenses: Travel cost will have to be manage by the student him/herself. HEC will not be responsible to cover any travel expenses of awardee.

There are 279 Chinese Government Scholarship Universities that offer different study programs for bachelors, masters and PhD studies in China. Some of the most prestigious Chinese Universities are as follows

Chinese Government Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Applicants have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for Chinese Government Scholarship

• Applicant applying through HEC portal have to be a Pakistani or AJK national

• Applicants with clear medical certificate are eligible to apply

• Must be a degree holder (who have incomplete degrees cannot apply)

• Applicants applying for undergraduate degree program must be under 25 years of age and hold an intermediate degree/ certificate

• For masters study programs applicant must be a bachelor’s degree holder and under the age of 35 years

• PhD / Doctoral applicants must hold a bachelors and master’s degrees and be under the age of 40 years

• Applicants have to meet the Chinese University’s requirements where he/she is applying for scholarship

• Chinese Government Scholarship language program: Applicants have to study for an extra year in China as Chinese language preparatory year except those who are already proficient in Chinese language with HSH level 3s

• HAT/ USAT Test Requirements: Applicants applying for undergraduate programs have to provide a valid USAT scores (50/100), same HAT test scores are required from those applicants applying for masters or PhD programs

Note: Applicants already appeared in HAT or USAT tests in January 2022 and achieved the required scores can put these test scores in their applications.

How To Apply For Chinese Government Scholarship

Students who want to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship Program have to follow the described steps

• Step-I: Go to the CSC Scholarship online portal

• Step-II: Fill the profile, select Learning Opportunities Abroad and submit application

• Step-III: Take print copy for this

• Step-IV: Open CSC scholarship online portal

• Step-V:  Submit a successful online application

• Step-VI: Take print of submitted application

Note: Submission of online application to both the sites (HEC and CSC) is mandatory. No hard copies are required at this stage.

Chinese Government Scholarship Documents Required

No document is required at the time of online application, only shortlisted candidates have to submit the following documents

• Copy of signed HEC application form (in a separate file)

• Copy of signed CSC scholarship application form along with following documents

• Attested copies of all educational transcripts

• One copy of CNIC and Domicile

• A research proposal: with 200 for bachelors and 800 words for masters and PhD

• A copy of research publication if any

• Copy of valid passport

• A copy of health fitness certificate

• Police clearance certificate

• University’s admission letter: It is optional for the applicant to get admission in any Chinese University, but the HEC and CSC is not responsible for their admission. Applicants applying for masters and PhD programs with an admission letter will be preferred

• Students applying for CSC scholarships alos have to apply for China study visa after shortlisting
