KNB usually refers to the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (Developing Countries Partnership) scholarship program provided by the Indonesian government for international students. The Government of republic of Indonesia will open its portal for KNB Indonesia scholarship applications from 16th January 2024 to 18th February 2024.

About KNB Scholarship Program

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia offers a prestigious scholarship program called Kemitraan Negara Berkembang KNB Scholarship, to qualified applicants who are citizens of developing nations. Since 2006, 1,608 recipients from 97 countries have received the scholarship, which is administered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology's Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology.

The KNB Scholarship program has played a pivotal role in assisting Indonesian universities in their pursuit of internationalization. Study Programs Offered For KNB Scholarship Program

Through KNB government scholarship program, students can start their fully funded bachelors, masters and PhD degrees in a wide range of study fields. Though the courses offered by Indonesian universities mat differ by the specific university. Following programs are offered to international students under KNB government scholarship.

Indonesian Language Training program

All KNB students must take an Indonesian language (Bahasa) course for one academic year in order to complete the academic program. This is because lectures and thesis work will be completed entirely in Bahasa. Every university will offer the Bahasa course.

Academic Programs Offered By KNB Scholarship

KNB Scholarship Stipend

KNB government will provide following benefits to successful candidates.

One-time settlement allowance of 1,250,000 IDR on arrival
While taking language training program and preparatory programs, students will only get monthly living allowance of 2,550,000 IDR / month
While during degree programs (bachelors, masters and PhD) students will get following allowance
- Living allowance: 2,550,000 IDR/ month
- Research allowance: 400,000 IDR/ month
- Books allowance: 350,000 IDR/ month
A health insurance with 200,000 IDR/ month
One-way air fare (from student’s home country to Indonesia)

KNB Scholarship Indonesia Eligibility Criteria

Requirements for KNB scholarship program may vary from degree to degree, here is the detail of each degree program’s requirement

Requirements For Bachelor Degree Program

Age of the applicant applying for bachelor’s program must not be more than 21 years
Must have a high school degree certificate
Three recommendation letters
One from Indonesia embassy
One from the employer or supervisor
One from the professor of previously studied institute
Passport (valid for 2 years)

Requirements For Master Degree Program

Age of the applicant must not be more than 35 years
Must hold a bachelor’s degree
Three recommendation letters from embassy, supervisor and professor
Passport with validity of 2 years.

Requirements For Doctorate Degree Program

The maximum age limit to apply for PhD program is 40 years
Applicant must hold a master degree certificate
Must have KNB scholarship invitation letter from one of the Indonesian university
A statement of purpose stating the purpose of study in Indonesia
Two recommendation letters from embassy and previously studied institute
Passport with validity of 2 years
