This is an excellent opportunity for scholars from certain countries to spend a year in the UK, do multidisciplinary research, and collaborate with leading academics, all while sharing knowledge on a global scale.
About the Fellowship
To mark its 90th anniversary, the British Council is supporting two promising early-career academics from countries eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA). The purpose is to strengthen cultural and educational ties between the UK and other countries through valuable research.

Who Should Apply?
This opportunity is ideal for scholars who:
- Are citizens of an ODA-eligible nation such as Pakistan, Nigeria, India, or Bangladesh.
- Obtained their PhD between 2018 and 2025.
- Have no permanent academic job
- Have not previously held an IASH Fellowship
- Have limited study experience in the UK or other non-ODA countries.
