HKU CDS Research Internship 2025 | Fully Funded Summer Research in Hong Kong

This summer, in 2025, HKU's School of Computing and Data Science is launching a Research Internship Program for around 50 standout undergrad students studying Computer Science, Statistics, and Actuarial Science, both from Mainland China and other places. Selected students will get up to HK$22,274 stipend. The aim is to give interns a taste of our research postgraduate program and let them get hands-on with real research projects. The internship will take place from July 13 to August 31, 2025, but we can tweak the dates based on what your supervisor suggests. Every intern will team up with a faculty mentor on a research project and present what they found at the end.

Program Details

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you need to be:

• A Year 2 or Year 3 student
• Studying Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or something similar
• Will attend a university in Mainland China, Hong Kong, or abroad

Financial Support

If you're lucky enough to be one of the selected interns, you'll get a stipend of about HK$22,274 to help with your living expenses. This should cover your basic needs while you’re interning. If you're planning to work in Hong Kong in person, it might be a good idea to talk to your supervisor about getting some extra support for travel and housing costs. It's definitely worth bringing up to see what can be worked out!
