Admission Requirements For MS

Please be aware that Oxford admissions are extremely competitive and that meeting only the minimal entry requirements will not guarantee an offer letter from the university. The academic department will evaluate your application on the basis of material and information you provide and compare it with other applications.  The admission requirements for a MS degree at oxford are given below:

  • A 4-year bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institute with minimum Grade A or a CGPA of 3.5 out of 4 or a Master’s Degree is also acceptable.

  • No Age Limit for your admission to a MS degree.

  • Minimum two academic references but three are advised.

  • Written sample work or test (required for few programs only)

  • Interview (required for only few programs)

Admission Requirements For PhD

Admission to a PhD program is a bit more difficult than a MS program because the admission is more competitive for PhD programs and only the best students get a chance to study PhD programs at Oxford University. The admission requirements for a PhD at oxford are given below:

  • Master’s Degree from a recognized institute with a minimum CGPA of 3.75 out of 4.

  • No Age Limit for your admission to a PhD degree.

  • Minimum two academic references but three are advised.

  • Test or Written sample work are required for PhD in Languages, PhD in Archeology, PhD in Oriental Studies, PhD in History, PhD in Theology, PhD in Religious Studies (Students have to send written samples in digital form not hard copies )

  • Not all PhDs require Interview

English Language Requirement

Not all programs at Oxford University have English language requirements. However, some programs are demanding and rigorous and you will need to prove that you are efficient enough in English to take up your space in Oxford. You have to show your IELTS/TOEFL/Pearson score. Their minimum required scores are given below:

How To Apply For Admission At Oxford University 

You can apply through Oxford University’s website. First you have to check all the requirements and dead line before applying to any course. It is recommended that you apply well in advance-three or two weeks before the deadline because in case of any difficulty you can discuss it with the academic departments, which can’t be possible if you apply on the last date. Following are the steps on how to apply for the admission:

  • Select your desired program from Oxford University’s website.

  • Make sure you meet all the requirements and there is still time of few weeks before the deadline.

  • Select the “How to Apply” button, given on the top of every program. By pressing that button, the website will show you some rules and regulations regarding your course. Then press “Apply” button to make an account on Oxford University’s student portal.

  • You will find the “Application guide” button at the bottom of your program details. Read it carefully and make sure to provide all the required documents or reference letters.

  • If your application gets accepted, you will receive an offer letter from Oxford University through e-mail. Read all the terms & conditions in the offer made to you, carefully and then reply, whether you are accepting the offer or not.
