IRENA SIDS Lighthouses Internship 2025 | Fully Funded Opportunity in Abu Dhabi

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an intergovernmental organization based in Abu Dhabi that promotes the widespread and increased adoption and long-term use of all forms of renewable energy in order to achieve sustainable development, energy access, energy security, and low-carbon economic growth and prosperity. IRENA's purpose is to lead the ongoing transformation of global energy systems.

Applications are now open for the IRENA SIDS Lighthouses Internship 2025 in Abu Dhabi. This is a fully funded internship for international students from all over the world. The internship lasts six months. Enrolled Master's and PhD students, as well as recent graduates, are all eligible for the IRENA internship. There is no application fee, and the exact dates of the internship are determined by the intern's availability and the program's requirements. The goal of this internship is to get a thorough grasp of the energy transition in SIDS (Small Island Developing States).

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: The internship is accessible to all nationals.
• Education: Currently enrolled in a Master's/PhD program or recently graduated (within 6 months) from an undergraduate program.
• Preferred qualifications include renewable energy, climate change, energy policy/law, project finance, engineering, economics, energy data/statistics, sustainable development, international relations, and other related subjects.
• Knowledge: Understanding of energy transition, climate change, renewable energy, and energy efficiency in small developing countries.
• Languages: Excellent written and spoken English.
