About SANDEE Summer School 2025

The South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE) will hold its 19th Summer School at Thailand's Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) from April 30 to May 15, 2025. This 16-day intensive residential program trains economists to address important environmental and sustainability concerns via research and policy analysis.

Program Details

Why Attend the SANDEE Summer School?

This fully financed program provides a comprehensive curriculum covering essential economic concerns associated with the environment, including:

• Economic aspects of sustainable development
  Market failure and externalities
• Impact evaluation of environmental policies

Eligibility Criteria

• The Summer School is open to individuals who live and work in the HKH/South Asia region.
• Open to a Master's degree (with a few years of experience).
• Open to PhD applicants as well.
• The "HKH" refers to the Hindu Kush Himalaya region.
• South Asia encompasses Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
• Applicants from outside the HKH/South Asia region, as well as those from the region who live outside the region, are ineligible.

Financial Benefits – Fully Funded Program

Selected candidates will receive full scholarships that cover:

• Tuition fees and course supplies.
• Round-trip foreign travel expenses.
• Accommodation and meals are provided throughout the program.
