Almost every developed country has a great proportion of international students in their universities. Related to matter, I had heard that America is the best student attraction with most international students in their country. No doubt about it, however, when analyzed each university distinctly, it was found that American universities are not even near to being most populated with international students.
According to Times Higher Education, an analysis of universities in the rankings shows that 16 of the 30 universities with the highest percentage of international students are in the UK, seven are elsewhere in Europe and four are in Australia and New Zealand. Here Study Abroad team has top 8 universities that attract most international students and what are reasons behind their success. 1 - American University of Sharjah
Country: United Arab Emirates
This university may sound like an American; however, it is located in the city of Sharjah that is in United Arab Emirates. American University of Sharjah is ranked among 601–800 in best universities of world. It is one of the best universities you can find in UAE. This university is ranked first top universities in hosting the most international students. Of their total students population 82% are international. 2 - London School of Economics and Political Science
Country: England
London School of Economics and Political Science is ranked 2nd top university with most international students as it is home to 69.7% international students of their total student population in campus. This university is one of the best educational institutes in world. It is ranked 23rd best university of the world by THE. It is located in London and was founded in 1895. It is a member of academic organizations such as the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the European University Association and the Russell Group. About 27%, in other words 13 out of 48, of all the Nobel Prizes in Economics have been awarded to LSE alumni, current staff or former staff. 3 - Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland

Royal college of Surgeons is home to third biggest proportion of international students. It is a professional association and educational institution that is responsible for the medical specialty of surgery throughout the island of Ireland. Its main campus is situated on St. Stephen's Green in Dublin. It is ranked among 251 – 300 best universities of the world and now it also holds the title of educating a big proportion of 62.5% international students of their total student body. 4 - École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne
Country: Switzerland
Very much admired for its architectural beauty, Ecole Polytechnique has the fourth biggest proportion of international students. It is a research university in the city of Lausanne, Switzerland and it very well-known for its physical sciences and engineering specialization. In 2016 it is ranked the 31st best institute for higher education that make it even more attractive for international students though it has shortage of it with already accommodating 54.4% of international students of their total students. 5 - University of Luxembourg

It is a young university founded in 2003, comprises three campuses, and yet has 5th biggest proportion of international students. This is not just it because it is also ranked 193th in the top higher educational institutes. Its courses are usually held in two languages: French/English, French/German, or English/German. 6 - Imperial College London

Imperial Institute was founded by Queen Victoria who laid its foundation stone in 1887. Imperial is structured into faculties of science, engineering, medicine, and business. Imperial is consistently ranks among the top universities in the world as it is currently ranked 8th best university of world for higher education by THE ranking. If a top university attracts students, it is no surprise but this university the highest ranked university with most proportion of international students. 7 - City University London

It’s another university of England with most international students since England is very much attractive to all international students because of its rich civilization and history of quality education. City University of London is ranked among 450 top educational institutes of the world. It is home to 50.1% international students making it 7th biggest proportion of most international students. It was founded in 1894 as the Northampton Institute. It is organized into seven schools, within which there are around 40 academic departments and centers. 8 - Maastricht University
Country: Netherlands
Maastricht University is a public university in the city of Maastricht founded in 1976. Over 16 thousand students are studying there of which 47.7% are international students, making it 8th top university with most international student proportion. It is also among the best universities of world with a secured rank of 88 in THE ranking. The university's medical and health care faculties reached 45th place worldwide in 2014. It is the only university which applies the problem-based learning approach in all its educational programs.
