Which is the best year to study abroad as an undergraduate student?

Studying abroad offers amazing experiences. To get enrolled in an international undergraduate program, it is highly recommended to apply during your 12th grade or senior college grade. The documentation and other formalities take a sizeable time to complete and you can join the study abroad undergraduate institution right after the completion of your senior or 12 grade.
There are students who left their homeland to study their bachelor’s degree program in their freshman (11th grade) or sophomore year, but this would be quite early to take a career decision. The following reasons can clearly explain the significance of taking international undergraduate admission after Intermediate/A-level Grades or completion of 12 Years of study.

1. Eligibility Criteria

Many undergraduate programs require completion of intermediate or equivalent 12 years of study like A-levels. This is the basic requirement to take admission in the undergraduate program; therefore students apply in foreign universities while they are in 12th grade or have recently passed the 12th grade. Your intermediate result will define your eligibility in the program otherwise you have to do some extra courses to meet the requirement.

2. Part-Time Job

A student generally passes his senior grade at the age of 17-18. This is the time when he is able to recognize his talent to take an on-campus or off-campus part-time job. Moreover, internships are also offered to young students who have at least passed their senior grades. There are some specific hours in which you can do part time jobs otherwise the student has to focus on his studies. These internships or jobs will build the self confidence and talent of a young sensible student.

3. Cultural Adaptation

Studying abroad is the best opportunity for a student to learn new customs and cultures. An eighteen-year student can perceive positive things from a foreign culture and is able to adopt new customs and traditions easily. A lot of young students adopt negative activities in foreign countries like drugs and gambling .The more the student is underage the more he is attracted towards such bad activities. However, an intermediate pass student knows his limit and can resist himself from evil activities

4. Career Opportunities

After the senior grade, many students enter their undergraduate program in their chosen career fields. Genuine 12 years of study will help to create a better resume during the undergraduate studies. As you are now studying your major course, you can directly apply in jobs related to your subject. You can survey around for the right kind of job that will suit your career.

5. Language Proficiencies

It is usually assumed that a junior grade student in an international university can learn a foreign language more quickly. But, in fact, an elder student can speak more fluently and is able to comprehend the linguistic concepts seriously. The senior grade passes out student can also manage to learn a foreign language. They are able to attend the language proficiency tests in their own country or can get enrolled in a part-time language program more easily along with his/her studies.

6. Program Specific Requirements

There are many study courses especially medicine and engineering programs that specifically require 12 years of education in the relevant subject. Moreover, these students have to carry out certain practical work which is only possible in their intermediate grades as these practical courses are part of the intermediate syllabus. If you are in11 grade or have joined an international undergraduate program after your 10th grade, you have to work very hard to reach the admission criteria in an international university.

7. Immigration Opportunities

We all know that the basic purpose of studying abroad for most of the student is to get a second passport. If you have passed your 12 grade or possess an intermediate certificate you can get more chances to apply for residential visa or immigration in a foreign country.

8. Scholarship Eligibility

75% of the international students are studying on scholarships and funds. These scholarships are granted either by the university itself or by some authentic organizations including Government. To get these meaningful scholarships the student has to meet some criteria. The basic criteria to get an undergraduate program scholarship are the completion of at least twelve years of studies in the relevant subject.
There are certain advantages of getting admission in a foreign university while or after your 11th (freshman) or sophomore years. Still, it is highly recommended to step in a foreign destination after completing 12 grade or intermediate level studies. On the other hand, it is really hard to get admission in the second year of an undergraduate program, therefore try to apply for an international program during or after your intermediate or A-level grades.
