What Is the WIPO Young Experts Program?

The YEP is more than just a job; it is a springboard for aspiring professionals from developing and least-developed nations to become future leaders in the intellectual property ecosystem. Over the course of 24 months, selected Young Experts will collaborate with global experts on cutting-edge intellectual property challenges, helping to build the global innovation ecosystem.
Participants are fully immersed in WIPO's day-to-day operations, working on initiatives that promote the use of intellectual property for economic, social, and cultural development.

Who Should Apply?

WIPO is on the lookout for energetic and driven people who fit these requirements:

• Age: Under 35 when you apply
• Education: At least a bachelor's degree
• Experience: A minimum of two years in a relevant job
• Skills: Good analytical, research, communication, and people skills
• Language: Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Interests: There's a genuine curiosity about how new ideas and creative approaches can be applied in intellectual property.

What Does the Program Offer?

The YEP is a paid program that offers several benefits to help you out:

• Stipend: Get CHF 5,000 every month.
• Health Insurance: Most of your medical costs, around 75%, will be taken care of.
• Travel Help: We assist with moving and visa applications.
• Settling-In Support: We’ll help you find a place to live in Geneva.
• Accident Insurance: You're covered for accidents during the program.
