Youth for Peace: UNESCO's Intercultural Leadership Programme for Young Changemakers

In today’s ever-changing world, cultural differences and political tensions can clash a lot. It’s more important than ever to promote peace and understanding. The youth now are not just the future; they’re making a difference right now. That’s why UNESCO has started an initiative called the Youth for Peace: Intercultural Leadership Programme. This isn’t just about training; it’s about real change.

Program Offers

During the program, participants will take part in training that focuses on building skills, which includes:

1. Training

  • Online Workshops: These sessions will help participants gain the knowledge and skills needed to lead in different cultures and manage projects in their own communities.
  • Ongoing Learning & Exchange: Continued training will assist participants in sharpening their skills and knowledge for their community projects.
  • Learning and Mentorship: Each participant will get personalized coaching to help them carry out their projects.

2. Financial Grants

Following the initial workshop, participants will discuss their project plans. If approved, they’ll receive a $10,000 grant to help implement their projects, along with ongoing support and mentorship.

3. Global Networking

The program also includes a chance to join the in-person UNESCO Global Leaders Dialogue for Peace in Guangzhou, China. Here, you’ll present your projects and engage in discussions with influential leaders.

Who can apply?

To apply, you need to:

  • Be between 25 and 45 years old on September 1, 2025.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience in your field.
  • Care about intercultural dialogue and making a social impact.
  • Demonstrate the ability to impact and promote change in your community.
  • Be free to take part in all parts of the program.

For community-led projects, they should:

  • Match the theme: ‘learning to Collaborate for a Shared Future: Using dialogue to foster social cohesion in a world on the move.
  • Be doable within six months.
  • Focus on local or national issues.
