Cost of Studying in Norway

Tuition Fees:

Recently, public universities in Norway have started charging tuition fees for students from outside the EU/EEA. The fees can vary based on the university and the program you choose: 

  • University of Oslo: About NOK 145,000 for undergraduate programs and NOK 220,000 for master's programs each year. 
  • NTNU: Roughly NOK 318,700 for undergraduate programs and NOK 331,400 for master's programs per year. 
  • University of Bergen: Around NOK 255,000 for undergraduate programs and NOK 280,000 for master's programs annually.  

Keep in mind, some programs might offer waivers or lower fees. 

Living Expenses

On average, students should budget about NOK 13,790 per month or NOK 151,690 per year for living costs. This covers accommodation, food, transport, and other personal expenses. 

Semester Fees

Every student has to pay a semester fee, which ranges from NOK 600 to NOK 1,000. This fee gives you access to different student welfare services.
