Soils are a priority area for USP and students aligned to an ACIAR Soils project will be considered a priority.
Forestry is a priority area for FNU and students aligned to an ACIAR Forestry project will be considered a priority.
Projects which consider issues of gender, social systems, youth engagement, food systems and climate adaptation will also be welcome at both universities.

All eligible international students from the selected countries are eligible to apply for a PhD or master by research degree programme offered at The University of the South Pacific and Fiji National University. A tuition fee for the undertaken programme will be awarded for up to 2 o 3 years of study.

Background
The Faculty of Science Australian Research Council (ARC) Scholarship is designed to support research candidates in conducting research that directly contributes to the Australian community.
The scholarship may be co-funded by the Faculty of Science and external ARC research grants, or industry-funded projects such as but not limited to ARC Discovery Project (DP), ARC Fellowships (traditional and industry), ARC Linkage Project (LP), ARC Special Research Initiative (SRI) or occasionally,
Establishment allowance:
AU$2,000 to AU$4,000, depending on the duration of your study course, academic level and course duration.
Health insurance coverage:
Overseas Students Health Cover [OSHC] for scholarship holders or international students recipients of all categories and study courses.
Travel Insurance:
Provided to international recipients for arrival to Australia at the beginning of study course and at the end of study course for returning back to the native land.
Eligibility
To qualify for this scholarship:
You need to be a new international student starting studies in 2024 at specific campuses: Wagga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, Port Macquarie, or Albury, enrolled in a full CRICOS-registered degree program.
You need to secure accommodation before if you will commence in Session 1 2024, or 31 May 2024 if you will commence in Session 2, 2024. Applications for session 1, 2024 for Wagga Wagga campus are closed.
