Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the NIE PhD Scholarship:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree with Second Class Upper Honours or higher.
• Have a relevant Master's degree from a recognized university.
• Exhibit strong research talents.
• Must be admitted into a full-time PhD program at NIE.
• Must not receive any other scholarship, fellowship, or compensated employment.

• You can get a waiver for your annual tuition fees, and the best part is it can be renewed for up to four years.

• Monthly stipend
  • Singaporeans: S$3,500 (STEM) / S$3,200 (Social Sciences & Humanities).
  • Singapore Permanent Residents: S$3,100 (STEM) / S$2,800 (SSH).
  • International Students: S$2,700 (STEM) / S$2,500 (SSH).
• Singapore citizens can contribute to the Central Provident Fund (CPF).
• You’ll get a monthly top-up of S$500 after you pass your PhD qualifying exam.
• No bond required.
• Access to Graduate Assistantship Program (GAP) for academic progress, including lab supervision and teaching.
