Applications are open for the PhD program that starts on April 1, 2026, and the deadline to apply is May 31, 2025.

About the Program

The GSPoL is all about boosting research in literary and cultural studies. It gives PhD applicants a supportive setup for their work and connects them with researchers and professionals from around the globe.

PhD candidates can focus on one of these areas:

  • Literature, Culture, & Society
  • Theory of Literature and Culture
  • Literary/Cultural Studies in the Professional World

These areas aim to bridge the gap between academic research and real-life use, helping students get ready for careers in both academia and the cultural sector. The program emphasizes strong research methods, working across different fields, and critical thinking.
