The University of Newcastle will award the scholarship winners an annual amount of $10,000, paid in two lump sums of $5,000, after the semester 1 and semester 2 census dates for up to 3 years of study.

Criteria:
The applicants must demonstrate high academic achievement either by an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or equivalent of 95 or higher for commencing students, or a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.0 for continuing students.
The applicants must be Australian citizens, and Australian Permanent Residents (includes New Zealand Permanent Residents).

Maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout the course
Can take QUT-approved leave of absence after completing one semester
Cannot hold sponsorship, scholarship, etc., from another organization
Cannot hold any other scholarship except an Equity Scholarship
Cannot hold the scholarship upon obtaining Australian permanent resident status or becoming an Australian and/or New Zealand citizen.
Eligibility
Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand, with preference given to the following countries: Indonesia, Melanesia, Micronesia, Philippines, Timor Leste.
Have a minimum GPA in current program of study at Griffith of 4.0 or above on a 7-point scale or equivalent.
Be a full-time (40 CP ) continuing student in Trimester 1, 2024, with at least two trimesters of study remaining.
