Eligibility Criteria

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, completed within the last six years.
  • Academic excellence (the top third of the graduating class is recommended).
  • Relevant professional or voluntary experience (internships, NGOs, and public service).
  • Strong dedication to development and social justice.
  • Adequate English or German proficiency (depending on the curriculum).

Programme Description

The International Excellence Scholarship Programme (IES) is a scholarship programme that enables ambitious students of all fields of study from Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia with above-average grades to spend a semester abroad in Berlin. This programme gives students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge at the best German universities (HU Berlin, FU Berlin, HWR Berlin, University of Potsdam).
