Selection Criteria for OWSD Postgraduate Training Fellowships
The fellowships are highly competitive, and the selection will be based on scientific competence and merit.
A panel of eminent scientists will review the applications, appointed by the Executive Board of OWSD
Preliminary acceptance letter
Candidates must submit a preliminary acceptance letter from at least one host institute.
The letter must be signed by the head of the department or by the postgraduate studies coordinator.
The study starting date on the preliminary acceptance letter must be the year following the application (e.g. if you apply for a fellowship in 2023. The acceptance letter should show the starting date as 2023).

Course/Field Study
OWSD PhD Fellowships for Women runs only PhD degree applications are accepted from female scientists in all branches of the natural sciences.
Eligible Scientific fields include Agricultural Sciences; Structural, Cell and Molecular Biology; Biological Systems and Organisms; Medical and Health Sciences; Neurosciences; Chemical Sciences; engineering sciences; Information Technology; Astronomy, Space and Earth Sciences; Mathematical Sciences; Physics.

OWSD PhD Fellowships for Women are funded With funds generously provided by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), OWSD has instituted this fellowship program.

Postgraduate

The School is a leading centre of interdisciplinary social science, bringing together research, innovation and student education to tackle the key social and political challenges of our time.
Aim:
The overall aim will be to investigate a new reaction scheme for producing ammonia from N2 and water.
In this interdisciplinary project, you will:
Review the state-of-the-art technologies for low emission approaches to ammonia production, and particularly chemical looping.
Screen and develop materials for fixing N2 and producing ammonia at mild conditions.
Develop a plasma-assisted system to facilitate ammonia production.

There are two types of MPhil on offer at Cambridge: the MPhil by Advanced Study, which includes a taught element, and the MPhil by Dissertation, which is a research-only programme leading to a dissertation.
Benefits
The University of Warwick will provide the full fees for three years to the successful candidates. The scholarship is full-time fees only and excludes living costs, travel etc. Up to one scholarship can be provided to cover the current overseas fee (Band 1).
