20,000 Pakistan students to get Chinese scholarships every year

“China increases the number of scholarships with 20,000 per annum for Pakistani students,” said Yao Jing, Chinese Ambassador. The reason behind it is to enhance people-to-people contacts and Pak-China strategic partnerships.
Yao Jing added his words, “Enhanced people-to-people contacts and Pak-China relations would get more strength from generations to generations”, during “China-Photo Exhibition”, proposed by The National University of Science and Technology (NUST).

He further remarked: “It is the people who matter in a relationship”.

Chinese Study Center of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities took the responsibility for this event with the collaboration of the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad. It was also celebrated as a part of the Chinese Lunar Year Celebration.

The economic corridor between Pakistan and China is a long term project. Five years of working on the CPEC project is adding the relationship term between Pakistan and China. Moreover, in the region of socio-economic development, it is just the starting point of achievements. All this declared by the Chinese Ambassador.

Entrance into next phases of CPEC project through investment, joint ventures, the establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) engagement with the export-oriented corporation and in the power sector had decided due to consolation with the Pakistan Government, said Chinese Ambassador.

He further said, “Education, health, agriculture, poverty reduction, human resources, and social sector are the next areas for next Phases Cooperation of CPEC projects.” He also ensured that in future cooperation between Pakistan and China would cover all other areas including development areas, economic areas, and military areas etc.
While lauding the best efforts of NUST towards good quality education especially in the areas of science and technology, Yao said that Chinese Government would support the institute further because they considered the National University of Science and Technology is one of the leading institutes of Pakistan.

Lt. Gen. ® Naweed Zaman, HI (M), rector of NUST witnessed that through closer educational association the commitment of these two countries to introduce knowledge economy for generations in future is becoming possible.
The several creativities of NUST in cooperation and collaboration with China and its various institutes also lightened by Naweed Zaman. He also thanked China for their support to NUST. NUST leadership, Faculties, Chinese graduate Alumni and students from other universities of Islamabad participated in this event.
