A Funded Trip To Japan For All Pakistani Primary And Secondary School Teachers

Good news for Pakistani teachers, Japan is offering teachers training scholarship program 2023. Pakistani teachers who wish to study and research school education system in Japan can apply for this fully funded MEXT teacher’s training scholarship 2023. The Japanese government is offering this scholarship program under their Monbukagakusho Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Candidates should be mindful of the fact that this is not a degree program of undergraduate or postgraduate level. Candidates will be awarded a certificate on completion of this program from a university of Japan.

MEXT Teacher’s Training Scholarship Coverage

As we mentioned earlier that the MEXT teacher training scholarship 2023 is totally free. This fully funded training scholarship will cover the cost of tuition, airfare, exams, transportation in Japan and provide will monthly stipend till the end of the training program (for 18 months). Under the guidance of the faculty members of the host university, research students will have the opportunity to carry out their work in international atmosphere.

MEXT Teacher’s Training Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Applying candidates must be born on or after the date: April 2, 1988.

  • Candidates must have graduated from a recognized university or teacher training institute of Pakistan.

  • Candidates with Pakistan nationality are eligible to apply.

  • Candidates must have teaching experience of 5 years in primary and secondary school or institutions of Pakistan till 1st October 2023. University teachers and working members of university faculty are ineligible to apply.

  • The applicants must be mentally and intellectually capable of spending eighteen months in a society with a culture very different from Pakistan.

  • Applicants must be willing to learn Japanese and receive research guidance in Japanese due to the fact that many universities only offer Japanese courses. The university in Japan provides Japanese language instruction prior to the training program.

  • If gets accepted candidates have to arrive in japan at least 2 weeks before the training program starts.

Documents Required For MEXT Teacher’s Training Scholarship

  • Completed teacher training scholarship application.

  • A brief statement of your motivation for this scholarship.

  • A recommendation letter from your principal.

  • If you get accepted for the scholarship only then you will be required to submit the medical form and any other documents (experience letter, any additional training course certificate and academic transcripts) required by the MEXT.

MEXT Teacher’s Training Scholarship Application Process

  • Dully fill the teacher training scholarship application by downloading it from the link.

  • Attach your statement of motivation and the letter of recommendation from your principal with the application.

  • Pack your application in an envelope and envelope must be marked “MEXT Teachers Training Scholarship”

  • And send it to the address: Public Affairs Section, Embassy of Japan, Diplomatic Enclave 1, Islamabad.

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called out for the written test, and to appear in that written test candidates have to send an application to MEXT Teachers Training Scholarship Application Consulate General of Japan office on 6/2 Civil Lines Abdullah Haroon Road Karachi, Pakistan. And this address should also be written on the envelope carrying your application. 

MEXT Training Scholarship Ineligibility

  • Candidates with Japan nationality are ineligible to apply.

  • Candidates having university teaching experience and members of university faculty cannot apply.

  • Candidates born before April 2, 1988 are ineligible to apply.

  • Candidates who fail to arrive in Japan within the allowed time will be withdrawn from the scholarship.

  • Candidates who fails to submit the required document within the given time will also be discarded from the scholarship.  

  • Those who have received a Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship in the past, as well as those who have dropped out of the program after arriving in Japan are ineligible to apply.

  • Those who hold the status of "Student" and are currently enrolled in a Japanese university or other institution in Japan are also ineligible to apply for this scholarship program.
