The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to international students who have completed their graduation and wish to pursue their research based studies at Japanese universities. As MEXT is offering scholarships for masters and PhD research studies.
MEXT scholarship is a fully funded scholarship for international students including Pakistan. MEXT scholarship will cover student’s tuition fee, accommodation, monthly living expenses and travel allowance from home country to Japan. Application cycle for this scholarship normally start in April to May annually for the next year study program. No language (English/ Japanese) is required to avail MEXT scholarship.

MEXT scholarship is a fully funded scholarship for international students to pursue their studies in Japan for free. MEXT scholarship provide following benefits to the selected applicants
One time preparatory allowance will be provided to candidates
Monthly allowance will be granted
MEXT will cover entrance and tuition fee of the selected candidate
An economy class round airfare travel expenses will be covered
Residence halls will be provided by the university to international students for accommodation
Applicant must have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria
Must be an international
Age limit for masters and PhD applications is 35 years
Must have completed 16/ 18 years of education when applying for masters and PhD respectively
Following documents must be submitted by the applicant to home country’s embassy for Japan before the deadline

Attested education transcripts for all universities attended (original attestation)
Attested copy of certification of graduation or degree certificate of universities attended
Recommendation letter from the dean/ president or the academic advisor at the current or last university attended
Abstract of theses
Recommendation letter from the present employer (if applicable)
Download MEXT scholarship application form and fill it
Attach all above mentioned documents with the application form and submit to embassy at given address
A written test will be conducted by the Japanese embassy
After that interviews will be conducted
The selected candidates will be informed by the email or embassy website
