
You can now apply for the UNITAR Traineeship 2025 in Switzerland! This is a paid internship in Geneva open to international students and recent grads. It's a great chance to gain some real-world experience and learn more about the United Nations. The traineeship lasts between 4 to 6 months and takes place at the UNITAR headquarters. Trainees will receive a monthly stipend of 964 Euros (900 CHF) to help with transportation and other costs. Alongside a UNITAR officer, you'll work on creating things like social media content, flyers, designs, websites, and emails. There's no application fee, and anyone from anywhere can apply.

Responsibilities
Here are some typical tasks for the trainee:
- Help with the communication strategy for the Unit.
- Assist coworkers in creating communication materials like brochures, ads, emails, web design, and videos.
- Update website pages and landing pages.
- Handle the review and sharing of news articles or summaries about past and upcoming activities and programs.
- Create and keep track of plans to promote the Unit’s training programs, events, and initiatives.
- Research specific topics and promotional opportunities.
- Find ways to connect with certain audiences, like student fairs, and manage details like budgets, timelines, and materials needed.
- Keep an eye on MDPU’s LinkedIn Alumni Group and draft content for the Communication Team to review and approve, along with other info platforms.
- Edit and add subtitles to videos for UNITAR’s social media, website, or courses using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro or Canva.
- Take photos and shoot short videos at events and training.
- Manage mass email campaigns using Mailjet.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: You should be enrolled in or have recently finished a bachelor's, master's, or other advanced program in communication, public relations, graphic design, video production/editing, marketing, international relations, or something similar.

Skills:
- Strong interest in communication and outreach initiatives.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Analytic and research skills
- Basic computer skills include online tools, word processing, and Excel, PowerPoint, and internet searches.
- Ability to work both jointly and independently.
- Extra skills: Knowing graphic design and tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro for video editing, Canva, Trello or Hootsuite, and Notion can really help.
- Languages: You need to be good at speaking and writing in English. Knowing other UN languages, especially French, is a plus.
