About the Fellowship

The Centre for Shared and Deliberative Democracy (CSD) Visiting Fellowship is a part of UCD’s mission to bring different fields together. It invites researchers from political science, public policy, sociology, law, AI, digital policy, global development, and other areas.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants need to have a solid background in publishing and teaching in areas relevant to CSD’s work, such as development studies, agronomy, gender studies, digital agriculture, rural sociology, political economy, or ICT for development.
• Both early career researchers and experienced scholars who are within 15 years of obtaining their PhD are welcome to apply.

Fellowship Benefits

• The host university will pay for all eligible expenses during the fellowship, up to €10,000. 
• The fellowship includes costs for accommodation, airfare, visa, and living expenses. 
• Participants will get a fully funded educational trip to Europe.

Fellowship Responsibilities

When they're here, fellows are expected to:

• Give a public seminar or lecture
• Join in collaborative research or mentoring, especially for those just starting out
• Submit a working paper or help out with UCD’s publication series
• Build lasting partnerships and work on future research projects
