Education policy in Pakistan to be Changed to Meet International Standards in 2020

On 5 December 2019 a conference was held in Islamabad by the collaboration of Higher education commission of Pakistan and United States Education Foundation Programme (USEFP). The participants of the conference will all the elite office holder of Pakistan.

According to the statement issued by the President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi had issued a statement, he laid emphasis on the up gradation of the education system and making it at par with world.

The president stressed that the education system cannot stand the comparison of that of the developed countries of the world as there are many challenges in improving the education system which Pakistan  are yet to overcome.

The conference was based on the improving the higher education standards in Universities in Pakistan by means of understanding of international quality assurance standards. The President laid stress on the fact that educational system is just burdening the Pakistani students more and more with little or no relief provided in this stress buzzing environment.

The President obligingly mentioned about the upliftment of quality education and research in the Pakistani universities.

 

Government of Pakistan Efforts in Improving Education

According to the Government of Pakistan improved condition of the economy paves way for the favorable development of education sector as well.

2019 has been a year of grave improvement in making up the educational infrastructural amendments in Pakistan, now is the time to improve its quality.

 Pakistan has been at a lower position after Afghanistan in the learning poverty index according to the latest World Bank report. The learning poverty index is the number of children below the age of 10 who are unable to read and understand it. It has been a great challenge for the government to lift up this index.

Adding to this the remarkable feat of providing 50,000 undergraduate scholarship under the Ehsaas program has made its mark.

 

United States of America Contribution in Improving Education in Pakistan

The effort of United States of America in improvement of education in USA has met great acknowledgement. US Ambassador Paul Jones had provided their content on the Pak US educational link.

In the recent past international educational week had been organized by HEC and USEFP that laid guidelines for the Pakistani students to Study in USA, with no consultation by their advisors fee whatsoever.

23 partnerships of US have been formed with Pakistani institutions, providing 19000 need based scholarships to Pakistani Students and 156 Fullbright Scholarships alone in 2019.

 

Changes in the Educational System in Pakistan

With many other major changes the Government of Pakistan is determined to erect the Backbone of the educational system in Pakistan that is still old school in its methods.

The Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has put forward the idea of a revised education system being finalized and put to implementation in 2020 in Pakistan.

Following the new approach the Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas has given a glimpse of the new education policy by stating the, there might be unification of the education structures at both Federal and Provisional Level together with the improvement and rightful changes in the curriculum to meet the  studying abroad standards.

The committee is already in place to combat the detrimental effects of present Educational framework in Pakistan and the news will be out soon.
