The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral and impartial organization dedicated to assisting victims of conflict and violence. Their main goal is to protect people’s lives and dignity while providing essential aid. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), established in 1863, was in charge of the Geneva Conventions and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The ICRC's Legal Division ensures that international humanitarian law (IHL) is respected and promoted. They offer legal advice to support the ICRC’s work and help countries apply IHL locally. They also work on reaffirming and developing IHL.
