Permanent Residency is an immigration status that you get like when you are on student visa, it is an immigration status with certain restriction and rights. Almost every Pakistani student that goes abroad for education tries to get permanent residency of that country. With permanent residency, you get come and go in that country whenever you want. So, after studies instead of coming back to your and then trying for permanent residency, you should stay in the country. The longer you stay, the more your chances improve of getting it.
 
How you stay after your studies is also another question. First, you should start preparations for permanent residency during study periods. After you have completed your education, you can apply for work or internship related visa to stay more in that country.
 

Develop Language Skills

This is an important factor to keep in view. In order to apply for the permanent residency of a country, you must have proficient communication skills in its native language. English has become a must everywhere in the world.
 
If you are applying for countries like Australia, United States or United Kingdom then only English language proficiency is enough. However, for countries like Germany, France and Sweden; you will need to learn languages like German, French and Swedish in addition to English. Since, the country you have chosen is giving the best possible thing it could offer, they also want something in return which is a very simple requirement. That is not to be a burden for them. In order to get permanent residency, you must prove your worth to them. You should have acquired some professional experience or skills. Your expertise in a profession mean a lot, it means that you will also be doing something back for the country and that you will never have financial trouble so won’t be a problem for the government.
 
If you are tradesperson and you are skilled in it, this means that you not only giving the country a business but with that you can easily support your living and also be paying proper tax to the government. Get a Career Rewarding Job

Instead of working at McDonalds or at some local company, you should choose the right place and right job. Select a job in which you wish to build your career. For example, if you are studying or have studied Computer Sciences then instead of doing other temporary jobs like sales or accounts, you should do a job of you own field.
 
In addition, try to get a job at a big company or corporation where you can see a good career. This will really add up to your profile for permanent residency and you will increase your chances of getting it on skill or employment basis.
