If you're an up-and-coming researcher in humanities, cultural studies, or social sciences and want to do some fieldwork in Europe, the Kulturwissenschaftliches Institut Essen (KWI) in Germany is offering fully funded fellowships for 2026. It's a chance to do research at one of Germany's top interdisciplinary research centers. Applications are now open.
The KWI International Fellowship supports talented researchers early in their careers (within six years of earning their PhD) from any country. Fellows will have a chance to work on their own research while participating in an active academic setting that encourages sharing ideas across different fields and with the public.
