Who Can Apply?

The Lee Kong Chian Research Fellowship is open to both local and international applicants who desire to explore concepts that will assist display our resources. We are searching for applicants with good academic backgrounds and related experience. Curators, historians, professors, and independent researchers with a proven track record are encouraged to apply. We also encourage doctoral, postdoctoral, and advanced researchers to consider this opportunity. It's ideal if you've previously achieved something in your industry and have the capacity to do even more.

Terms of the Award

The fellowship runs for six months.
Lee Kong Chian Research Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of S$3,500 to help them cover living expenses, local transportation, and photocopying.

Besides the stipend, Fellows going abroad will get a $1,500 relocation package, a one-time return flight reimbursement of up to $1,500, and a monthly housing allowance of up to $3,500.

All Fellows will additionally get the following:

  • The Lee Kong Chian Reference Library provides a research place with computer and internet access.
  • Access the library's collections.
  • Introduction to a librarian who can recommend resources from the collections.
