The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS-KNAW) in Amsterdam provides this fully funded five-month residency to those whose careers are affected by political issues or war in their countries.
The Safe Haven Fellowship at NIAS allows scholars and cultural figures at risk to continue their work within a secure academic surrounding that provides support. Started because of the Ukraine conflict, the fellowship now accepts applications from people in any country facing turmoil or oppression. This includes places like Gaza, Sudan, Haiti, and Pakistan.
