Fellowship Tracks

Core One World Media Fellowship

• This program supports experienced journalists and filmmakers from all media formats (print, online, audio, film, photojournalism).
• It prioritizes stories about the Global South that have received little attention.
• Applicants should have a story already in development and be able to finish it within one year.

Climate Reporting Gap Fellowship

• For creators covering climate finance and energy transition in the Global South:
• We seek impactful, solutions-driven stories, with a special focus on Nigeria.
• Selected applicants gain access to workshops and a funded reporting trip to Colombia.

Fellowship Benefits

• Research and production grants are available for project support, ranging from £1,000 to £3,000.
• Mentorship is offered in areas like executive production, directing, and editing approach, as well as overall vision and deliverables.
• Fellows can go to workshops and industry events that feature media experts who will lead discussions and hands-on sessions.
• Fellows can join an alumni network of storytellers from the Global South.

Eligibility Criteria

• We are seeking applications from experienced filmmakers and journalists from the Global South who have compelling and creative non-fiction stories about the region.
• Our fellowship offers a helpful place for experimentation and learning. Fellows may be developing an ambitious project or investigation, or exploring a difficult subject.
• Selection will depend on the story's integrity and creativity, as well as the applicant's access, capacity to complete the story, and potential gains from the fellowship.
