Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships 2026–2027

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships (SGE Scholarships) 2026–2027. This fully funded scholarship program is one of the most prestigious opportunities for Pakistani researchers, scholars, and artists who wish to pursue advanced studies and research in Switzerland.

Financial & Additional Benefits

These scholarships are primarily grants, not salaries. Here's what’s included:

Funding Opportunities:

• Doctoral and Art Scholarships: CHF 1,920 per month.
• Postdoctoral Scholarships: CHF 3,500 per month.

Health Insurance: Provided for non-EU/EFTA recipients. EU/EFTA recipients are responsible for their own health insurance.

Other Benefits:

• A one-time rental deposit grant of CHF 300.
• Half-price public transport card.
• Return flight allowance for non-EU/EFTA students after completion of studies.

Note: Tuition/semester fees, conference attendance, fieldwork travel, and any doctoral-specific fees are not included and are the responsibility of the applicant.

Who Can Apply?

• Open to people from over 180 countries, including Pakistan.
• Must have a Swiss professor willing to supervise their work, plus a solid research plan with a schedule.
• Applicants must be born after December 31, 1990.
• If already in Switzerland, applicants must have arrived after August 1, 2025.
