About the Fellowship

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you need to:

• Work as a researcher at a recognized institution outside the U.S., or be an independent researcher or artist with a strong portfolio.
• Have your study connected with disciplines at the University of Iowa.
• Show English proficiency (by TOEFL, IELTS, academic records, or video interview)
• Plan a fellowship term ranging from two weeks to a complete academic semester, such as spring 2026 (January 20-May 8, 2026).

Fellowship Benefits

Fellows chosen for this program will get:

• $2,000 stipend to cover travel and accommodation expenses.
• Health insurance from the University of Iowa for the time they’re in the fellowship. 
• Office space at the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies.
