With all of the recent health challenges, such as pandemics and crises, it is more vital than ever to share authentic tales from local communities. In response to this demand, CNN Academy launched a program called Voices from the South: Storytelling for Impact. The goal is to help new journalists from the Global South get started and make an impact.
Bridging the Storytelling Gap
Health reports from throughout the world sometimes overlook the specific circumstances of communities in the Global South. This program seeks to alter that by providing storytellers with the resources they need to tackle crucial health subjects from a cultural viewpoint. Whether it's about vaccine access in Sub-Saharan Africa or the bravery of healthcare personnel in difficult situations, participants will learn how to tell stories that have an impact locally and globally.
