Pakistani Eligibility for the Wilson Center Fellowship
Yes! Pakistani scholars, researchers, journalists, and professionals are fully eligible to apply for this fellowship.
In fact, the Wilson Center also offers a Pakistan Fellowship, specifically designed for candidates from and based in Pakistan, focusing on:
- Pakistan’s domestic policy issues
- U.S.–Pakistan relations
- South Asian regional challenges
Pakistani applicants can apply either through the general international fellowship or the Pakistan-focused fellowship track, depending on their research interests.
Basic requirements for Pakistanis include:
- A Ph.D. (for academics) or significant professional achievements (for practitioners/journalists).
- At least 8 years of professional or research experience.
- Strong publication record and policy-relevant research proposal.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to obtain a J-1 Research Scholar visa (sponsored by Wilson Center).
