
Are you a young changemaker from the Global South looking to make an impact on governance, sustainable development, and social justice? The Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND), in collaboration with Third World Network, Social Watch, Global Policy Forum, and the Asfari Institute at the American University of Beirut, invites applications for the 2025 Global South Study Week.
This fully funded international program will take place in Beirut, Lebanon, during the week of November 10, 2025, offering emerging civic leaders a unique opportunity to engage with peers and experts from across the Global South.
What Is the 2025 Global South Study Week?
The Global South Study Week is a prestigious annual program designed to strengthen the capacity of civil society actors from developing countries. The 2025 theme focuses on:
“Alternatives in Governance and Sustainable Human Development.”
Participants will explore strategies for promoting inclusive growth, policy reform, and equitable governance while addressing urgent global issues such as climate change, tax justice, debt, trade, social justice, and gender equality.

Eligibility Criteria
The program is open to applicants from Global South countries — including Pakistan — who meet the following criteria:
- Age: Under 40 years old
- Education: University degree in Development Studies, Economics, Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, or Human Rights
- Affiliation: Endorsed by a local, national, or regional NGO
- Experience: Active in advocacy or coordination on topics such as:
- Sustainable development and governance
- Global economic policies (trade, investment, debt)
- Tax justice and climate change
- Biodiversity, agriculture, or gender justice
- Language: Basic English skills recommended (interpretation provided)
