About the Fellowship
Each academic year, the FIAS Fellowship Program provides 28 international researchers with the opportunity to do independent study at one of the seven IAS institutes in France listed below:
- Aix-Marseille IAS
- IAS at Cergy Paris Université
- Loire Valley IAS (Orléans–Tours)
- Lyon IAS
- Montpellier IAS
- Nantes IAS
- Paris IAS

Who Can Apply
- Open to academics worldwide in Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as interdisciplinary subjects that interface with SSH.
- Artists holding a PhD are also eligible.

Eligibility:
- Requirements: PhD and at least 2 years of post-doctoral research experience (excluding PhD time).
- The mobility regulation requires no more than 12 months spent in France in the three years preceding the application deadline (July 16, 2025).
Fellowship Benefits
The FIAS Fellowship is fully supported and offers various benefits to guarantee researchers may focus only on their research:
- A monthly stipend of €2,700 (without taxes and social security contributions).
- Each fellow is eligible for a research allowance of up to €2,500.
- Accommodation aid (either free or reduced-cost housing).
- Assist with relocation (if necessary).
- Travel allowance (round-trip flying fare).
- Access to advanced academic facilities, libraries, and networking opportunities.
