About the Traineeship

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is looking for applicants for a Communications Trainee role in its Peacekeeping Training Programme Unit (PTPU). This is a full-time traineeship that lasts six months and will take place in Geneva, starting on August 4, 2025. The chosen applicant will get a monthly stipend of 900 CHF to help with living costs during the traineeship.

Program Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Enrolled in or just graduated (within the last two years) from a communications, public relations, international relations, or comparable degree.
• Great interest in peace operations, gender equality, and capacity building.
• Outstanding organizing abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with social media and content technology.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French or another UN language is preferable.

By the end of the traineeship, you'll have:

• Boosted your skills in making and keeping project schedules up to date.
• Learned how to coordinate and run training programs, whether online or face-to-face.
• Gotten better at organizing things, especially when it comes to planning and running training events.

Financial Benefits

Starting from May 29, 2025, trainees will get a monthly stipend of 900 CHF (about 961 Euros) and gain practical experience with the United Nations.
