The Aga khan foundation provides scholarship to the students from the developing countries who wish to study abroad but have no means to do so.

The Aga khan foundation sponsors students who want to acquire post-graduation away from their home country, occasionally they sponsor PhD aspirants if they are able to convince the organization about the promising future of their research.

The Aga khan foundation provides a scholarship amount that cover all the tuition fee and living expense requirements of the student in the university they are enrolled but the Pakistani student needs to reimburse 50 percent of the whole amount with a 5 percent yearly interest.

While pursuing this scholarship cum loan the Pakistani student must keep in mind that they will be preferred only if they have acquired alternate scholarships that would cover their other expenses.

For those of the Pakistani students who want to acquire a scholarship for their PhD they will be credited the amount for a period of two years for rest of the period they must find other alternatives.

The loan agreement must be cosigned by a guarantor.

  • The Aga khan foundation provides for the tuition fee and living expenses only.

  • The foundation provides scholarship half of which is loan and must be returned to the organization with 5% interest annually time period of which starts  6 months after the scholarship has been granted.

Documents Needed

  1. Passport or CNIC issued by NADRA.

  2. Academic record, transcripts and degree verified by the HEC Pakistan.

  3. Various achievements as prizes and all extracurricular activities.

  4. Financial records in terms of income certificates.

  5. Admission proof to a prestigious university.

 

Application Procedure

  1. The Pakistani student  must acquire the application form from Aga Khan Education Board for Pakistan Scholarship Unit Central Support Services Division 1-5/B-VII, Karim Abad Federal ‘B’ Area Karachi – 75950 Tel : (021) 36822955-8 Ext (332-333 & 337) Fax: (021) 36826764 Email: akfisp@akesp.org.

  2. Fill the form and submit it back to the organization along with the documents.

  3. The Pakistani student should be able to convince the authorities of their academic and other achievements.

  4. The student will be informed about the outcome of their application by the July after the annual meet up.
