Global Undergraduate Semester Exchange Program in US

The UGRAD program is a semester exchange program for Pakistani students. Those who wish to travel to US and want to get experience of studying a semester in the US universities during their Bachelor’s degree can apply for this scholarship. The first semester exchange was started in 2010-2011 and this program has gained more popularity with time. After the completion of UGRAD semester at the US university, students have to return to their home country and complete their Bachelor’s degree in Pakistani Universities. 

UGRAD is a non-degree program that offers cultural and academic exchange between universities of different countries. It is a great opportunity in terms of giving access to study in the world-class universities, a chance of socializing with people of different communities, experiencing cultural diversity and exploring a new country.  

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of USA started the Global UGRAD Program for Pakistani students in 2010. This program is supervised by the US Educational foundation also known as USEFP.

As this is a semester exchange program, most of the Bachelor's fields of study are included in the Global Undergraduate Semester Exchange Program.

Eligibility

Eligible candidates fall into the following criteria:

• Students enrolled in any undergraduate program in Pakistani Universities,

• Students in their 3rd and 4th semesters of undergraduate studies,

• Applicant must be a Pakistani national as applicants with dual citizenship Pakistan / US are ineligible,

• Only age group of 18-24 years old is eligible,

• Applicants must not have secured any previous US funding and have never been to US before.

• Pakistani residing in US as permanent residents are ineligible.

How to apply for UGRAD - Pakistan Program 

The application procedure is simply through an online portal by creating an account and starting the application by the link https://applications.usefp.org/programs/ugrad/app/.

The documents required to complete the online application are as follows:

• scanned and attested/verified copies of the university transcripts,

• grade explanation should be clearly mentioned in the transcript,

• additional certificates and personal satement.

Accepted applicants further need to submit NO OBJECTION LETTER from the enrolled university and Reference letters.
