Fully Funded NOMIS–ISTA Fellowship 2025 in Austria | Postdoctoral Research Opportunity

Postdoctoral scholars with multidisciplinary research ideas are invited to apply for the NOMIS-ISTA Fellowship 2025 in Austria. This initiative helps scholars pursue their ideas at a leading European institution. Fellows will have the opportunity to engage across disciplines. They also gain access to high-quality facilities and skilled mentoring.

Overview of the Scholarship

Eligible Courses / Fields

Interdisciplinary research in two or more of the following areas:

• Physics
• Biology
• Neuroscience
• Chemistry
• Mathematics
• Computer Science
• Earth and Environmental Sciences

Program Highlights

• Fully funded: Annual gross compensation starts at €75,586.
• Research Budget: Up to €10,000 per year for project expenses.
• Dual supervision: One internal ISTA mentor and one external co-mentor.
• Global Collaboration: Fellows can spend up to three months per year at their external mentor's institution.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the NOMIS–ISTA Fellowship 2025, applicants should meet the items that follow:

• Have a PhD or plan to finish it no more than 8 months after the application closes.
• Put forward a novel, interdisciplinary research idea.
• Not have worked at ISTA after June 13, 2024.
• Plan to do research full time.
• Show superb skills in their field and be able to make major contribution.
