Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the iR2R Scholarship, applicants must meet fulfill criteria:
- Be an international student (not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident).
- Be living in Australia when you apply.
- Be qualified for and plan to enroll full-time in the second year of the Master of Research program in January 2026.
- Not be currently enrolled in a research degree at Macquarie University.
- Not have already finished a Master of Research or a higher degree by research.
- Meet Macquarie University’s academic and English language requirements for the MRes program.
- Have supervision confirmed by a Macquarie academic (required for some faculties).
Benefits
iR2R Scholarship awardees will gain:
- Coverage of the total tuition cost for the second year of the Master of Research program
- A living allowance of AUD $39,700 annually (2025 rate), adjusted according to the program length
- Extra support, such as:
- An increased allowance (up to 75% of the standard allowance)
- Added project funds for costs related to research (like tools, field work, or travel)
- Chances to take part in activities aimed at improving scholars' skills
