The Klaus Tschira Boost Fund (KTBF) Scholarship of 2025 offers early-career researchers in the natural sciences a chance to grow their careers in Germany. Backed by the Klaus Tschira Foundation and run by the German Scholars Organization (GSO), this program supports postdocs in math, computer science, natural sciences, and related areas, helping them build independence and leadership, and conduct important research. This is a chance for researchers to test ambitious ideas.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants should meet the listed criteria:

  • Possession of a completed Ph.D. and current status as a postdoctoral researcher.
  • Affiliation with a German public university or a known research institute.
  • Engagement in research within acceptable fields, excluding clinical natural sciences.
  • Absence of a permanent job.
  • Lack of substantial independent funding from other sources, such as an ERC Starting Grant or Emmy Noether Program.

Scholarship Benefits

Each fellow will get:

  • Up to €120,000 over two years,
  • Including a maximum gross salary of €67,000 each year.
  • The rest of the money can cover personnel, travel, materials, publications, and other costs.
  • Funding for a two-year project.
  • Personal growth workshops on leadership, project planning, time management, and research influence.
  • Entry to AlumNode, a professional alumni network that encourages knowledge sharing and teamwork.
